DEXTRIN 20.904
dextrin for paper production
Product description:
• AGRANA DEXTRINS are starch-based products which are used in a large number of industrial applications. Dextrins are partially hydrolyzed starches prepared by heating or dry roasting starch in the presence of an acid catalyst.
• DEXTRIN 20.904 is a so-called „ellow" (or „anary") dextrin. When during dextrinization process the temperature is further increased and the starch is roasted for a longer period of time, yellow dextrins are produced. Compared with white dextrins they have a higher cold water solubility and they are more stable against retrogradation (or set-back). They range in appearance from pale yellow to buff in colour.
• Raw material: potato starch
• Type: yellow, „edium"
Application:
• AGRANAs yellow dextrins yield concentrated pastes which are very tacky and which dry rapidly when applied as a thin film.
• AGRANAs yellow dextrins are mainly used in the production of tacky, quick-setting adhesives primarily for glueing paper products: flat gumming and envelope seams, gummed tapes. Furthermore for carton and case sealing and for tube winding. Further applications are in wall covering, as a core binder for foundry casting or as an adhesive in leather pasting. There are also certain applications in food industries.
